GHK Cape Fear Development To Deliver New Multifamily Project In Echo Farms
October 28, 2020
GHK Cape Fear Development plans to deliver its second multifamily project in the Echo Farms community of Wilmington, North Carolina.
Construction on the new luxury rental community, which will be called Riverwood, is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2021.
Situated on 17 acres acres at 4080 Independence Blvd., Riverwood will consist of 86 townhomes and 120 garden-style apartment units. Townhomes in the community will be similar to those of Woodlands Landing, a 176-unit multifamily project that the firm recently completed in Echo Farms.
Riverwood’s beautifully crafted one-, two- and three-bedroom townhome style units will boast granite countertops, sleek walk-in showers and LED under cabinet lighting. Along with a a 24-hour fitness center, co-working space with WiFi and a resort-style, salt-water pool with sun deck, community amenities will include a Paw Spa dog wash, controlled-access bike storage and a covered pavilion equipped with grills and a fireplace.
In a recent Greater Wilmington Business Journal story, Brian Eckel, a partner with GHK Cape Fear Development, noted that rental townhomes are a unique offering. The firm has had success with the rarely done product type at Woodlands Landing, which opened at the start of the pandemic and is now 80% leased, and believes rental townhomes are the right fit for the Riverwood project as well.
