The Wilmington Planning Commission, at its September 7 meeting, unanimously recommended the approval of Cape Fear Development’s application to redevelop a waterfront site at the end of Independence Boulevard.
The proposed project, the Proximity at Watermark, would include a 248-unit apartment complex staged on the banks of the Cape Fear River in southwest Wilmington. The site has previously been used as a boat storage facility and marina, but is no longer in use.
The Planning Commission voted 6-0 to recommend the approval of Cape Fear Development’s application. The City Council will vote on the application at a future meeting.
